  3. TRB PUBLICATIONS INDEX • Index all papers, articles and reports published by TRB from the early 1970s to date • Contains about 22,000 records • Available on the Web • Links to electronic bookstore, out of print order form or full text electronic documents

  4. PATH DATABASE • PATH is the largest and most comprehensive collection of bibliographic information on Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS) • Contains over 20,00 records • Now integrated into TRIS

  5. Research in Progress • Over 5700 statements of research projects • Includes records from FHWA, FTA, TRB, State DOTs, Universities, and Canada • Available on the Web • Submittal form available on the Web • New Web based RIP Database being developed under NHRP 20-39(2)

  7. TRIS FACTS • Largest and mostcomprehensive database on transportation resource • Contains over half million records of published and on-going transportation research • For over 35 years has been one of the major resources on transportation

  11. Update on Coverage • PATH Database added • Currency is important - no backlog • Conference Proceedings • Expansion of coverage of transportation articles in non-transportation journal coverage

TRT Conversion • Only TRT vocabulary is in the Index Term field • There is a Geographic and Identifier field that also is based on the TRT • Terms that were not exact matches to a TRT Term went in the OT (Old Term field and still searchable) • Candidate Terms and Uncontrolled Terms • Indexers use TRT • Files received for TRIS will be converted using the mapping program
