  4. Unfortunate Situations • Hearing about the situation from someone else. Talk to your friend • Ex. I heard that you and your family are having some difficult times. I am sorry to hear about that. • Ex. I was sorry to hear about your misfortunes.

  5. Show you care… • Let your friend know that you care and that you want to help • Ex. How are you doing? Are you OK? • Ex. Let me know if there’s anything that I can do to help.
