The goal is to use information technology to enable: Faster access to information More complete information Greater ability to share information More accurate information Rapid comparisons Automated information searches Prompting with alerts, warnings or reminders

Approaches NM took IT staff on the DOQ-IT Project DOQ-IT Project Manager Hired Marcia Tarasenko HIT Advisor (Existing staff - Not included in the DOQ-IT model) IT Advisor (Existing staff) Web Master (Existing staff) DBA (Existing staff) Analyst (Existing staff) (Hired a nurse with Informatics background, including extensive IT system installations) Marcia Tarasenko (We opted to utilize the existing IT Manager as a key component to the makeup of this team. This gives the team an added person to bring in stakeholders) (Existing staff brings system assessment knowledge, vendor reviews, and article production) (Existing staff used to build our own WWW.NMDOQIT.ORG website) (Existing staff used to create a tracking/contact/stakeholder/vendor database) (Existing staff used to help with vendor review and assessment tool design)(Hired a nurse with Informatics background, including extensive IT system installations) Marcia Tarasenko (We opted to utilize the existing IT Manager as a key component to the makeup of this team.
