  1. NILAMBER-PITAMBER UNIVERSITY MEDININAGAR, PALAMU - 822101 Estd. – 17th January, 2009 PRESENTATION OF REPORTS IN THE CONFERENCE OF VICE-CHANCELLORS IN RAJ-BHAWAN BEFORE HIS EXCELLENCY HON’BLE CHANCELLOR UNIVERSITIES OF JHARKHAND ON 11.08.2009

  2. The N.P. University was established on 17th Jan’09 and started functioning in two roomed R.U. branch office situated at G.L.A. College with minor construction and renovations. • The estimated budget for the year 2009-10 was submitted to H.R.D. Department on 27th Jan’09.

  3. Under Section 75 & 75 ‘A’ of J.S.U. Act, an “Advisory Committee” was constituted to run the University at the initial stage. • An official LOGO of the University was developed.

  4. D.S.W., Proctor & C.C.D.C. were appointed under the provision of Act, whereas Finance Officer, Controller of Examinations, Deputy Registrar & Assistant Registrar have been appointed on the recommendations through J.P.S.C. • With constant persuasion, district administration constructed Grade-I road inside the entire G.L.A. college campus.

  5. 46.80 Acres of empty land of G.L.A. College has been earmarked by D.C., Palamu for infrastructural development of the University. • The evacuated building of the IGNOU Centre has been renovated for functioning Examination Section of N.P. University.

  6. University P.G. Departments have been constituted under section 4 of the Act and started functioning from July, 09. • Deans for 4 different faculties have been appointed. • A portion of G.L.A. college building occupied by C.R.P.F. had been made evacuated through negotiation and the evacuated rooms have been renovated for P.G. Classes.

  7. At present the University Administrative office is running in the District Board Guest House, under an agreement executed between authorities of District Board, and N.P.U. till the administrative building of N.P.U. is not constructed. • University’s first Syndicate meeting was conducted on 20th July, 09.

  8. Examination Board, Moderation Board and other standing statutory committees of the University have been constituted as per Act. • Rs. 8 – 10 Lacks have been provided to all the constituent colleges to achieve the minimum essential target for updating library, laboratory and for face-lifting.

  9. Vocational / Self-financing courses like B.C.A., I.T., B.B.A., Travel and Tourism & Watershed Management have been started in different colleges from the session 2009 onwards. • Academic Calendar for the year 2009-10 has been published.

  10. Departmental seminars and tutorial classes have been revived in the colleges. • S.T. / S.C. Cell, Anti Raging committee and Placement cell have been constituted and made effective. • University Examinations of 2009 and publication of the results are in process which will be completed by November’ 09.

  11. The University is committed for completion of office automation by the end of March 2010. • Preparation of Master Plan of the University is in the final stage for submission. • Computerization of examination section is under process.

  12. The University has submitted the detail proposals to the HRD Department for Administrative Building, Faculty Buildings and Centre for Information Technology. • The University has been able to make a fixed deposit (Corpus fund) of Rs. 90 Lacks with S.B.I. from the receipts through its internal resources.

  13. The process for appointment against sanction post of 132 teaching staff through J.P.S.C. and 64 Non-teaching staff by the University has already been initiated.

  14. Suggestive measures for qualitative improvement of higher education in the state • Timely release of funds under budgetary provision by the State Government. • More financial and academic autonomy to the Universities. • Implementation of the reports of Knowledge Commission and new UGC pay scale.

  15. Adequate financial support for better performance for imparting quality research and teaching. • Special financial drive for imparting education to the weaker section of the society and students of B.P.L. category. • Rapid development of infrastructures of the colleges and University departments.

  16. Appointments of teachers of high academic pursuit with updated knowledge of information and transformations. • Appointments of emeritus Professors in different faculties under UGC norms. • Up-gradation of classroom teaching with audio visual techniques.

  17. Up-gradation of laboratories with modern equipments. • Enrichment of library with inflibnet system having access with National Documentation Centre & National Informatics Centre. • Installation of LAN/WAN & Wi-Fi systems in the campus.

  18. Full office automation, together with installation of video conferencing system with colleges, University departments and with higher administrations for better e-governance. • Conduction of seminars & workshops of national and international standard for promoting interaction of students with Academics of high profile.

  19. Regular arrangements of University–Industry interface programmes. • Promotion of cultural interaction, arranging zonal and national festivals for promoting sense of national integration.

  20. MOTTO OF THE UNIVERSITY To impart quality teaching and research and to inculcate the sense of character building, belongingness, visionary aptitude and discipline within the students is the prime motto of this newly created university.
