  2. Introduction Our project deals with the topic “holidays” and is based on Unit 1 of the New You&Me 2 “Back from our holidays”. The exercises have been designed for revision and practising, either at school or at home. This project was created by Silke Stienitzka andKatharina Wimmer in the Proseminar „Fachdidaktik AHS - eLearning in the English classroom“ with Walter Steinkogler at Salzburg University, January 2007.

  4. Vocabulary Mindmap This mindmap holds the most important words concerning holidays. We used the picture dictionary as a basis and added some more words which we considered useful for talking about holidays. File: Mindmap_holidays.htm

  5. Vocabulary Flash cards The flash cards shall help the students to memorize and deepen the new words. File: 04_Flashcards.htm

  6. Vocabulary Vocabulary exercises These two vocabulary exercises are based on the mindmap and the flashcards. Files: 04_Choose_the_correct_word.htm JMatch_transportation1.htm

  7. Vocabulary Crossword The crossword is the last vocabulary item. The students are asked to fill in the words based on given definitions. File: CrosswordHolidays2.htm

  8. Grammar Past Tense sentences These grammar exercises help the students to repeat the correct past tense forms. One exercise focuses on regular forms and the otherone on irregular forms. Files: 01_PastTense_RegularVerbs.htm 03_PastTense_IrregularVerbs.htm

  9. Grammar Past Tense short texts The students shall insert the correct past tense forms in these 3 consecutive short texts. File: JCloze_London_3.htm

  10. Texts Dialogue 1 - JCloze The students have already read a similar dialogue in their textbooks. Now, they should complete it with the correct forms of the verbs given on the left hand side. File: 07_Talking_about_the_holidays.htm

  11. Texts Dialogue 2 - LingoFox The students shall complete the text by inserting the correct endings of the verbs. File: A_holiday_in_Spain_Worksheet1.doc
