  2. Purpose of Presentation • Promote Physical Activity • Service student & staff physical activity interests and needs • Increase enrollment • Increase offerings • Partnership with the community and local businesses

  3. Extension Current Offerings Tooele – Aerobics, Jog/Walk & Conditioning Uinta – Jog/Walk, Weight Training & Yoga Brigham City – Yoga, Picklball

  4. Main Campus Programing Offers 185 sections of PE classes with 5,052 students enrolled (~17,000 on campus) and 56 different activities 136 classes are contracted with local companies and individual adjunct instructors.

  5. Instruction • Adjunct instructors – Non benefited teachers who are hired and terminated each semester. • Cycling, Fly Tying, Billiards, Dance, etc. • Local business contracts hire and pay the instructors within their business structure.

Main Campus Contacts w/ Local Businesses • Rapid Progression – Kayaking • Cache Valley Strength and Conditioning – HIIT Training (Cross Fit) • Logan River Golf Course – Logan City • Sports Academy and Racket Club – aerobics, spinning, kick boxing, gymnastics, tennis, Pilates, Zumba • Logan Lanes – bowling • Cache Valley Fun Park – bowling • Campus Recreation – rock climbing, Old contract was with Rock Haus • Eccles Ice Arena – ice hockey, figure skating, curling • Beaver Mountain – skiing, snow boarding, telemark skiing

  7. Funding • Student fees – instruction, consumables, maintenance • Fees are set for 3 years • Teacher pay varies based on enrollment • Typical minimum is $600 or ~$20/hr • Supported by Central Administration because courses are not required for graduation • The model has been around since the 70’s • Beaver Mountain is the oldest contract.
