  3. Grade Level • The Grade Levels In Russia are Kindergarten Through Eleven Grade. There Are No Twelve Grade. College Is Five Years Instead Of Four Years.

  4. Russia Vs. America • The Difference Between The Russian System & The American System Is That The American School Have Senior Year, Russia Doesn’t. The Russians Attend Community College & When Going To University, They Commute. Also, their Grading Rubric Is Different Because We Use The Letters “ A, B, C, D, & F”. While The Russians Use The Numbers “ 1, 2, 3, 4, & 5.

Traditions In Schools • On September 1, 1984, the Supreme Council of the USSR officially designated the first of September as the official ‘Day of Knowledge’.On this day, schools put on a special celebration to mark the start of the year – teachers & students come & listen to songs and poetry; congratulatory and inspirational speeches are given by the schools’ head teachers

  6. First Day Of School • September 1 is always the day kids start school in Russia, regardless of whether it’s a weekend or not. In Russia on the first day of school, every kid is dressed up to the nines and brings in flowers for the teachers.It’s a tradition for an 11th-grader to take a first-grader and have him/her ring the school bell, if there is one

  7. Last Day Of School • On May 24, the students visit their classes. Traditionally there is a ceremonial line in the morning when graduates and first-former are gathered in front of their school or in the stadium. The teachers tell a summing-up, give advices to the graduates who enter a grown-up life. Then by tradition the graduates lead first-former to school by hand. After that the graduates, their parents and teachers come to the assembly hall. The children usually make a concert.There is funny tradition that they wear a school form looking like small children

  9. Schools Changed Today • The standard test is in Russia for the first time this year. Its test is similar to the United States SATs. Another change is the education system is the increasing number of schools charging parents for their services. Besides the official sector of privately owned schools, a significant number of public institutions are now dependent on tuition revenues as their second major source of income after state allocations
