  5. Who are iT4C’s Volunteers? Our volunteers are all IT Professionals We ask that they have: • One year's IT experience with relevant IT qualifications OR • Three years' IT experience without relevant qualifications • We have 5,000 Volunteers on our database • All have different skills and different reasons for sharing their time and talent

  6. Where are iT4C’s Volunteers? Our volunteers come from all over the UK • They are concentrated in urban areas • There are over 5,000 volunteers • There are 2,200 Charities registered • Virtual Volunteering means geography is irrelevant

  7. How it Happens Charities and Volunteers register on our website We help the charities define their needs Our unique Project Definition process means both the charities and IT professionals know exactly what is required We publish the opportunities on our website and our RSS feed We offer ‘Start to Finish’ support iT4C staff are available throughout the project as an independent source of advice and guidance Volunteer contacts charity Charity assesses volunteer suitability and they both agree to work with each other Project starts and is completed leaving charity with a brand new sustainable and professional IT resource We write up a case study and press release to promote the charity locally From First Contact to ‘Job Done’

  8. How it Works: iT4C Project Definer contacts charity and creates unique Project Definition (PD) Charity Registers online Charity requests a volunteer Project Completed then turned into a case study and press release – well done! Volunteer expresses their interest and contacts charity Both Charity & Volunteer agree to work together

  9. Why it Works So Well Benefits to Charities • Better end-IT resource thanks to help from an IT Professional • More time & money to dedicate to front line support • iT4C removes the scary ‘techie’ barrier • No worries as iT4C team are always on hand for support & guidance Benefits to Volunteers • Feel good factor from making a difference • Increased business & communications skills for CV • Enhanced future job prospects
