  4. Aims: - Establishment of objective elements for the decision making (taking) - Promote public participation - Contribute to social equity and efficiency Developing Sustainability Indicators For the Sustainable Tourism Watch of the Balearic Islands

Features of Sustainability Indicators: • Calculations must be scientific and objective sound • Indicators must be related to politic objectives • Indicators must be easy to understand for the • general public. • Indicators must be about all systems • Indicators must be comparable over time and between regions.

Conclusions: • * Positive Aspects • Indicators are a good comunication tool and promotes public participation. • Sustainability indicators are necessary for planning for the future. • * Negative Aspects • - Lack of data. • - Little coordination and cooperation between different administration levels.
