  3. The Odyssey Reading Assignment The Cyclops due: Thursday, October 9 tomorrow The Sirens, Scylla, etc due: Friday, October 10 The Cattle of the Sun God due: Monday, Oct 13 Cross out “Test of the Great Bow”

  4. Test Monday What you need to know: -Epic & examples of epics -Epithets -Homeric Similes (be able to explain) -Identify themes and motifs in sections of text -Poetic devices found in poetry (review online)

  5. Begin the Cyclops Reading Assignment • You will have about 20 minutes to begin tomorrow’s homework. • Use this time to start answering the sections. Now is the time to ask questions for clarification about the assignment • Whatever isn’t finished at the end of the 20 minutes becomes homework for tonight
