  2. Employment • More than 50% of the female respondents are employed in the private sectors compared to 33% of the male. • Female are more employed in the private sector • Generally, equal percentages of male and female are considered employed graduates. • About three fourth of the graduates who graduated before 1990 are employed in the private sector, compared with 36% in 1990 – 1999 and 21% of the graduates 2000 – 2003 period, while 29% are self employed • On the field of study and the status, 45% of the graduates are in agro employed in private institutions while 40% are from the other courses. In like manner, only 10% from the agro are self employed while 30% from the other courses. Both courses are employed in the labor market.

  3. Income • 65% of the female have an income of less than 1M rps per month while 69% are male. Both the female and male receive less than 1 M rps up to 2 M rps, and only 3% of the male receive 3M rps. Generally, the female receive a little higher income from the male • The graduates up to1989 have an income bracket of less than 1 M to 2M rps, while in 1990 to 1999 there are 69% and 90% for 2000 – 2003, this reveals that the number of respondents are increasing while the salary brackets is the same within 18 years. Therefore, there is no salary increase. • On the status and field of study 67% of the agro graduates receive less than 1M rps., while 70% receive the same for other field of study. Only 2% from the agro graduates received more than 3M rps. These indicates that the new graduates are lowly paid while there are more opportunities for the agro graduates to received higher salary.

  4. Position • 30% of the female carry the position of a lecturer compared to 39% of the male. Of the female, 19% are working as administrator compared to 9% of the male. Although only 7% of the female are junior researcher compared to 12% of the male. • The graduates up to1989, there are 61% lecturers, compared to 38% in 1990-1998 while only in 8% in 2000-2003. Although there are 25% graduates in 2000 – 2003 as administrators. The graduates up to 1989 are occupying higher position, hence senior graduates have more experiences to qualify to occupy higher position. In like manner, technical position are needed in the labor market in specifically for the 2000-2003 graduates, this is a signal that technical courses are also in demand now. • Of the graduates from agronomy 39% are lecturers compared to 11% from the other courses. There are only 10% who have the position of an administrators from the agro compared to 33% from the other courses, only agro graduates are having a position of a junior researchers with 12%, while none for other courses.

  5. Job Description • 50% of the female are having a job description as teaching compared to 43% of the male. In like manner the female have 14% as administrators compared to 7% of the male. • Graduates up to 1989 reveals that 65% are employed as teachers, compared to only 42% of the 1990-1999 graduates while 20% in 2000-2003. This implies that the number of graduates are becoming less attracted to teaching or there are lesser job opportunities in teaching. Along research as a job description, there are only 4% of the graduates up to 1989 compared to 70% graduates from 1990-1999 while no one was employed as a researchers who graduated from 2000-2003. As far as management, there is an increasing trend since there are only 4% graduates up to 1989, compared to 8% in 1990-1999 and 13% in 2000-2003. This could be attributed to the graduates status of employment which is self employment • On the field of study, 50% of the agro graduates are in the teaching profession, compared to 17% from the other courses. On the other hand, graduates from the other courses are either employed as manager, administrator and coordinator only compared to agriculture who have the variety of job description like research, planning, management, accounting, administration, analysis, evaluating and coordinationfunctions.

  6. Satisfaction and motivation • The overall assessment on job satisfaction indicates that 8% of the female are very much satisfied compared to 6% of the male, on the other hand, 29% from both male and female gave a very high motivation rating to environmental, social and economic factors. This reveals that both the male and female have the same level of satisfaction and motivation factors • As to the year of graduation, 5% of the graduates up to 1989 are very satisfied compared to none of the respondents in 1990-1999, while only 14% for the graduates in 2000-2003. On the other hand, 29% of the graduates up to 1989 are very much motivated compared to 25% of the graduates from 1990-1999 while 31% from 2000-2003.
