  2. Write in the first or third person by using words like:I, we (first person)he, she, they (third person)

  3. Write mainly in the past tense

  4. Write a clear introduction for the reader

  5. Write things in the order in which they happened

  6. Use connecting words and phrases to help the reader e.g. A few minutes later, meanwhile, afterwards

  7. Use amazing adjectives to help create a picture in the reader’s head

  8. Use powerful verbs to describe the action in the story

  9. Describe the feelings of the person telling the story at different points.
