  4. Causes of Imperialism Industrial nations wanted new places to get raw materials/natural resources. Nations also wanted to sell manufactured goods to new markets Colonies gave nations a chance to have powerful military bases all over the world White Man’s Burden: Europeans though they should civilize and Christianize people in Africa and Asia

  8. The Scramble for Africa: As Europe was industrializing Africa was experiencing internal strife and was not industrializing. Europe’s need for natural resources and markets took advantage of this and colonized the continent. • The Berlin Conference: To avoid conflict Europeans and divided up the African Continent with no regard for the people of Africa.

How did European imperialists use it to justify what they were doing. How did the Industrial Revolution cause imperialism?
