  1. Installation and startup • Initial client installation • Download and install EDMModelServerManageIFC and EDMModelServer trial from • ftp://ftp.epmtech.jotne.com/pub/epmtech/model_server/InstModelServerManager/latest or • http://www2.epmtech.jotne.com/download/EDMmodelServerIFC/InstModelServerManager/Latest • ModelServerManagerIFC_Srv5.0_1.2.319.msi • OctagModellerFull.2181.exe (3D viewer, separate lisence www.octaga.com) • Setting up thin connections. • Specify User, Group and password • TCP: Specify Host and Port number • HTTP: tunneling and/or proxy server. Specify tunnel host and port, proxy host and port • Local DB: (need EDMDesktop or EDMDeveloper license to run against local database) Initial default server is: TCP, Host: 195.139.163.21 Port: 4430 Log in as User: Public Group: Public Pwd: Public • Client upgrade • Automatic upgrade of client Upgrate to latest version • Manual upgrade of client Check for updates (select version manually)

Evaluation server installation and startup • EDMModelServer setup for one month trial on single PC • EDMModelServerManagerIFC contains Necessary server software: • Run license installer and fill in License Id and password • Check server startup scripts • .../Program Files/EPM Technology/EDMModelServerManagerIFC/StartEDMServer.bat and StartAppserver.bat • Start the local server and application server from the windows start menu • EDMModelServerManager->EDMModelServer->StartEDMServer and StartAppserver 1: 2: • Set connection to local server in MSM. Connection name: localhost TCP Host: localhost Port: 4430 Log in as User:superuserGroup:sdai-groupPwd:db1

  4. Upgrade to latest client version

  5. Re-install client - manual procedure • Check for updates • Download correct version to PC • Uninstall previous version

  6. Re-install older version • Download correct version to PC • ModelServerManagerIFC_Srv5.0_1.2.290.msi • Uninstall peviously installed version • Add/remove programs in windows • Install new version

  7. Create new connection • Connection name • Select existing connetion • Write a new name for a new connection • Username • Obtained from a BIM manager • Group name • Obtained from a BIM manager • Password • Your personal password. Initially given by the BIM manager • ModelServer hostname (or IP address) • Obtained from BIM manager • Port number • Obtained from BIM manager • Test and show repositories • Only for connection testing • Use the connection • Or hit <Enter> in the connection name field

  8. Important settingDefault schema • Default schema when creatinig new models. • Set to the IFC schema version you prefer to work with

  9. Default options settings • Check that options are configured like this • Must be selected if you have Octaga Modeller installed
