Pre-Departure Orientation Session 2012 • Long Stay Student Visa • Visa type:« Visa long séjour valant titre de séjour » ~VLS/TS catégorie D~ • After Arrival in France: • OFII immigration Form to be sent to the Préfecture (within 3 months of arrival in France) • Medical exam at local OFII center • OFII Stamp on your passport • After this, the visa allows to: • Travel in European Union Territory • Work up to 20 hours per week (to help you a bit to finance your stay) • Renewal: • after one year, Titre de Sejour to be applied for Visa OFII Stamp

Pre-Departure Orientation Session 2012 • Renewal of VISA • ( for 2nd year of Study) • Instead of Visa, student needs • « Titre de Sejour Temporaire » • 3 months before expiry of Visa: • Contact local “Prefecture” for Renewal • Prefecture provides: • « Récépissé » Receipt of Application for Temporary Titre de Sejour • Récépissé + Passport = Valid to travel from France to India Titre de Sejour Temporaire Récépissé

Pre-Departure Orientation Session 2012 • Stay beyond academic year • (after finishing 2nd year Masters) • Request “Prefecture” for • « AutorisationProvisoire de Séjour (APS) » • APS is valid for 6 months beyond “Titre de Sejour” • Can be applied only 4 months before expiry of “Titre de Sejour” • Student must sign a bond declaring: “they will go back to country of origin if no job contract is acquired in these 6 months.” Autorisation Provisoire de Séjour (APS)
