  2. The word bonsai is Japanese and it means dwarfed trees in a pot. These miniature trees have been around us for centuries. They are very well known in most of the world but are especially popular in Asia. So many people think that these trees are of a particular type of tree but the fact is they are actually normal trees that are kept smaller through the pruning process. To produce the dwarf appearance of the tree, copper wires are used for this process. These copper wires are carefully coiled around the branches of the trees as per the desired direction.

  3. These bonsai trees live very long. The common varieties are azalea, pine, camellia, plum and bamboo. To create bonsai some professional people use special tools such as a root trimmer, shears and pliers.

  4. Care and lots of attention should be given to such trees. To maintain the looks of the tree, pruning of roots and branches is necessary. If you have one of these trees at home, you should be aware of the amount of sunlight and water that should be given to them. If they are exposed to excess sunlight and too much wind, they will dry up fast. When these trees have gone through re-potting and pruning, they should not be exposed to the direct extreme sunlight. Special care should be taken during the pruning period.

  5. These special trees require many nutrients to remain healthy. The supply of water given to them should be at the maximum. They should receive phosphoric acid, nitrogen and some potash for their growth. Sunlight is also a very important nutrient for them. You should always provide them these nutrients to keep them healthy and looking beautiful.

  6. It is suggested that when planting in pots, they should be kept in the tray, which must be shallow to allow for evaporation. The use of pebbles and some flattened rocks will help in preventing the trees from sitting in the water. Do not ever forget that the roots of these trees should never be wet.
