Growing up Amphibians. By Herminio and Anna. Growing up Amphibians. A salamander that does not change fully into adult form is called the Axolotl. The Axolotl does not have the hormone that it needs to change into an adult. It keeps it’s gills and has to stay in the water.

  2. Growing up Amphibians • A salamander that does not change fully into adult form is called the Axolotl. • The Axolotl does not have the hormone that it needs to change into an adult. It keeps it’s gills and has to stay in the water.

  3. Growing up Amphibians • In most amphibians the gills disappear and are replaced by lungs so that they can live on land • Most amphibians grow into adults within a year. At that time, they are ready to start the life cycle all over again with new eggs.
