  8. Experiment • Procedure • Place samples on plate • Drop 5 drops/mineral oil/sample • Start stopwatch • Stop stopwatch/when oil/soaked in • Record in data table

  9. Hypothesis Hypothesis: If oil is poured on sandstone, limestone, and shale, then sandstone will absorb oil the quickest. 8 Why: Because sandstone feels the most porous.
