Female circumcision Lara 9D
What is Female circumcision? • It is the partial or total removal of the external female genitalia for no medical reasons. • Female genital mutilation (F.G.M) is done anywhere from the day after birth to puberty.
Where its done • F.G.M was estimated in 2013 to be the most common in 27 countries in Africa. • 133 million females went through the immense pain in the countries as of 2014.
How and why its done • F.G.M is typically carried out by a traditional circumciser blade, used to cut out the female genitalia. • F.G.M is thought to ensure virginity before marriage and fidelity afterwards.
All in all, • F.G.M is a hidden nature of crime. Its procedures intentionally alter or cause injury to the female genital organs for no medical reasons. Which is why female circumcision should be abolished.
