  2. Some Restaurant Vocabulary • Appetizer – A small snack before the big meal comes • Ex. Chicken tenders, onion rings, potato skins, quesadillas…

  3. Some Restaurant Vocabulary • Main Dishes– The big meal. Usually meat, chicken, or fish with one or two side dishes • Ex. Beef stew, grilled steak, fish and chips, pizza

  4. Some Restaurant Vocabulary • Side dishes– A small amount of food that comes with the Main Dish • Ex. French fries, small soup, small salad, small pasta, baked potato…

  5. Some Restaurant Vocabulary • Bar – The place to get drinks and have a snack while you wait for your table.

  6. Some Restaurant Vocabulary • Buffet – long tables with many types of food; you take what you like, and how much you like.

  7. Some Restaurant Vocabulary • Brunch – a large meal that is between breakfast and lunch, especially for a special occasion

  8. Some Restaurant Vocabulary • “Fancy” Restaurant – a very nice restaurant with an expensive menu
