Treatment of Foreign Investors • Foreign investors and foreign capital are treated as national investors and national capital. • A foreign investor who establishes a project in the Region is entitled to own the entire project. • A foreign investor may transfer the profits of a project and interest on his capital abroad according to the provisions of the Investment Law. • A foreign investor is entitled to repatriate his capital upon the liquidation or disposal of the project, provided doing so does not conflict with the provisions of law, customs procedures, and tax procedures. • A foreign investor is entitled to insure his project through any national or foreign insurance company.

  6. Facilities, Exemptions, and Privileges Contained in the Investment Law • Exemption of projects from all taxes and non-customs duties for a period of 10 years. • Exemption from taxes and duties for machinery, implements, equipment, vehicles, and machines imported for a project, provided an import license is obtained. • Exemption from taxes and duties of spare parts imported for a project. • Exemption from customs duties of raw materials imported for production in a project for a period of five years.
