  2. 8. Motherboard Fakta mengenai motherboard (MOBO): • Disebut juga main board/system board. • Terdiri atas komponen yang terpasang secara tetap (tak bisa dilepas) dan komponen yang bisa dilepas (bongkar-pasang). STMIK Budidarma Medan

Istilah umum dalam motherboard (1) • Chip BIOS : komponen vital dari sistem input dan output S/W disimpan. • BIOS (Basic Input Output System) : menangani perintah dasar perangkat keras dan sistem operasi. • Chipset : mengontrol laju data di mobo. • Jumper : untuk mengeset mobo secara manual. • PCB (Printed Circuit Board) : Papan silikon tipis tempat semua komponen diletakkan. • Baterai CMOS (Complementary Metal Oxide Semiconductor) : memastikan setting BIOS yang diatur tetap tersimpan.   7. Istilah umum dalam motherboard (2) • Slot ISA (Industry Standard Architecture) : digunakan untuk menghubungkan kartu tambahan (card). PC sekarang sudah tidak memakainya lagi. • Slot PCI (Peripheral Component Interconnect ) : digunakan untuk menghubungkan kartu tambahan. Jumlahnya antara 1-7. • Slot AGP (Advance Graphic Port) : hanya digunakan untuk kartu grafik (Graphic Card/VGA Card) STMIK Budidarma Medan
