Role & Remit • Established in May 2008 • make recommendations to the LCPP Boards on the priorities, targets and resources to be allocated to tackle key issues raised around the vibrant agenda • recommend a structure for taking the vibrant theme forward in the South • Reports to both Local Community Planning Partnerships – potential future links to the Area Co-ordintation Group

7. City Wide Agenda City Wide Outcomes • Improve the attractiveness of Glasgow as a place to live, invest, work and visit • Improve residents’ aspirations, confidence, decision making capacity and involvement in community life • Improve Glasgow’s physical environment and infrastructure.

Local Context • Significant levels of physical regeneration taking place across the South West • Local Views incorporated using the Neighbourhood Management Survey and youth engagement event • Highlights particular issues regarding the environment, cleanliness, facilities • Findings from Local Space Event • Expertise from service providers

9. Local Priorities South West • Support and develop the art, creative and cultural communities, especially where these are focused on youth and older people • Improve the attractiveness of the local area for residents and visitors (physical environment including housing, commercial property, parks and open spaces) • Promote neighbourhood renewal and regeneration by raising housing in all tenures to satisfactory standards, with affordable costs • To meet people’s changing housing needs and prevent and alleviate homelessness through the delivery of effective services • Expand the Clean Glasgow Initiative to the South West of Glasgow

10. Local Priorities Greater Pollok and Newlands/Auldburn • Engage, listen, support and enable the Community and Voluntary sectors to fully participate in the Community Planning process • Improve local public transport provision, particularly in the evening, on indirect routes and park & ride. • Recognise and support community contribution and celebrate their success in making the area and Glasgow vibrant

11. Local Priorities • Improve the provision of, and investment in appropriate Cultural and Leisure facilities, including well lit walking and cycle paths and community facilities • Improve the condition and safety of roads within the area • Support the voluntary and community sectors to share experience and build on good practice in the delivery of local services

12. Local Priorities Govan & Craigton • Improved linkages between the new developments and established communities, in particular the major new employers • Improve walking routes across the area • Improve the connectivity of the various riverside initiatives
