  3. Purpose: Why should we do this? • Provide consistency • Provide direction for our work • Establish accountability principles • Establish roles and responsibilities • Build transparency • Become efficient and effective

  4. Results: What needs to be accomplished? • Trust • Common Understanding • Clear Expectations • Consistent Approach • Improve communication • Improve efficiencies

  5. Implementation: What was our process? • Documented what we currently do • Searched archives for past practice • Determined what needed to be changed • Scripted undocumented practices • Shared drafts with Tech staff

  6. Detemination: Will the drafts work? • Tested integrity in daily use • Communicated new practices to key users • Gathered feedback • Scripted a final draft • Posted documents in Tech Department folder • Adopted final draft internally

  7. Engagement: Stakeholder Approval • Share draft with other department staff • Share draft with other IT directors • Gather input from selected users • Review drafts and edit as appropriate • Share with direct supervisor

  8. Overview: What does it look like? • Organization of the Document • Splitting Hairs • Parts for the Tech Team • Parts for the Users • Parts for Professional Development
