Founded in 1986, Nutriset focuses on improving nutrition for children and vulnerable groups worldwide. With a turnover of €57 million in 2009 and a dedicated team of 120 professionals, Nutriset produced 15,500 tons and 168 million nutritional tablets that year. Committed to financial independence through a humanitarian-focused business model, the company invests 6% of sales into research and development, establishing 54 partnerships. Their efforts aim to combat malnutrition, testing over 360 formulas for various nutritional needs, while enhancing ingredient availability through ongoing studies and product innovations.

  2. Nutriset Mandate Nutriset set its mission : To facilitate access to and availability of products designed for the enhancement of the nutritional status of children and other vulnerable people, for nutritional autonomy.

  3. Created in 1986 (by Michel Lescanne) • Turnover 2009: 57 million € • Staff 2009: 120 people • production 2009: 15 500 tons and 168 millions tablets Financial independence = business model based on a strategy guided by humanitarian objectives, thanks to company profitability.

Research & developpement works • 2009: 6% of sales turnover • 54 Research partnerships • 2009: more than 360 formulas tested (external research, plumpyfield productions, Nutriset productions,etc) • Research partnerships: • Treatment of SAM (1 study to start in 2010) • Treatment of MAM (10 studies) • Prevention of Acute Malnutrition (2 partnerships / studies) • MN deficiencies and stunting on infants aged 6 – 24 months(6 • studies) • Prevention of malnutrition and MN deficiencies in infants by supplementing infants aged 6 – 24 mo (about 11 studies) • Prevention of malnutrition in infants by supplementing both P&L and infants (5 studies) • Supplementation of Pregnant Mothers only (1 study) • Nutritional support to adults living with HIV/AIDS (3 studies) • Infants exposed to HIV (2 studies) • Internal works: • Ingredients nutri-fonctionals • Ingredients available in developping countries (new cereals, fat,etc) • others ingredients (antioxydant, emusilfier, minerals and vitamins,etc). • organoleptic works (LNS products,etc) • developement of analysis methods (proxy infra-red, chloride, etc) • products stability
