  1. New CP Violation Review David Kirkby UC Irvine

  2. “CP Violation in Meson Decays” • New in 2004 RPP (24 pages) and booklet. • Co-authored with Yossi Nir (Weizmann Inst.) • Combined previous separate reviews on CP violation in B, K systems. • Emphasized common theoretical framework, despite experimental peculiarities of each system. • Aimed at level of experimental grad student.

  3. Outline • Common formalism • Theoretical interpretation • general considerations • KM mechanism • Specific systems • K • D • B and Bs

  4. Added new material on distinguishing indirect CP vs T violation in context of possible CPT violation, and highlighted importance of interference terms due to DCSD that had been previously neglected. • Future work: angular & Dalitz analysis of multi-body final states, triple-product correlations in VV decays.

  5. Experiences • Never saw Yossi face to face (long-distance collaboration works!) • Collaborative writing & review could be streamlined (e.g., central cvs repository, line numbers, etc) • Extensive open review process time consuming but effective. • Authors should be more involved in RPP-> booklet editing.
