  4. What’s included – solution scope The SAP SRM rapid-deployment solution for operational sourcing enables the ability to quickly request, receive, and review procurement bids from multiple suppliers. This predefined solution fulfills your operational sourcing needs by enabling you to secure the best prices and to check availability of the goods and services your business requires. Central procurement teams in many companies process hundreds of operational sourcing requests daily. The operational sourcing process is optimized for fast throughput and quick turnaround of winning supplier bids to ensure timely delivery of goods and services to meet business demands. Operational sourcing behind-the-firewall (single back-end) • This preconfigured process offers you direct integration of SAP SRM as an add-on installation with deployment on your single SAP ERP application. Operational sourcing behind-the-firewall (multiple back-end) • This preconfigured process offers you direct integration of SAP SRM as a central hub with deployment on one or multiple back-end SAP ECC applications. The leading system for follow-on documents, like PO and invoice, can be either SAP ECC (classic scenario) or SAP SRM (extended classic scenario). Operational sourcing decoupled bidding (multiple back-end) • To enhance the security of your system, you can choose to implement bid decoupling, which allows bidders to confirm RFQ participation and create quotations or bid responses without accessing your internal SAP SRM application. The bidders access a supplier portal that is available outside your firewall.

  5. Go live in as little as 10 weeks • Enablement of the operational sourcing process • Implementation based on different deployment and scenario options • Single or multiple back-end deployment • Behind-the-firewall or decoupled scenario • Automated basis customization and operational sourcing functionality-related configuration • Description of portal and SAP NetWeaver PI for the decoupled scenario • Predefined personal object work lists (POWLs) • Standard document text schemas, security or user authorizations, and portal business content • Master data migration from one SAP ECC to SAP SRM A special step-by-step guide describes each activity during the deployment
