  3. 2 Samuel 24:18-19 ESV 18 And Gad came that day to David & said to him, “Go up, raise an altar to the Lord on the threshing floor of Araunah the Jebusite.” 19 So David went up at Gad's word, as the Lord commanded.

  4. 2 Samuel 24:20-21 ESV 20 And when Araunah looked down, he saw the king & his servants coming on toward him. And Araunah went out & paid homage to the king with his face to the ground. 21 And Araunah said, “Why has my lord the king come to his servant?”

  5. 2 Samuel 24:21-22 ESV David said, “To buy the threshing floor from you, in order to build an altar to the Lord, that the plague may be averted from the people.” 22 Then Araunah said to David, “Let my lord the king take & offer up what seems good to him.

  6. 2 Samuel 24:22-23 ESV Here are the oxen for the burnt offering & the threshing sledges & the yokes of the oxen for the wood. 23 All this, O king, Araunah gives to the king.” And Araunah said to the king, “May the Lord your God accept you.”

  7. 2 Samuel 24:24 ESV 24 But the king said to Araunah, “No, but I will buy it from you for a price. I will not offer burnt offerings to the Lord my God that cost me nothing.” So David bought the threshing floor & the oxen for fifty shekels of silver.

  8. 2 Samuel 24:25 ESV 25 And David built there an altar to the Lord & offered burnt offerings & peace offerings. So the Lord responded to the plea for the land, & the plague was averted from Israel.

  9. Worship entails sacrifice because sacrifice shows what we value more, what we prioritize.

  10. We prove our prioritiesby what we sacrificefor them.

  11. If my worship costs me nothing, what does it say about what the Lord is worth to me?

  12. Examine your worship: What do I sacrifice to Worship Jesus? • What does my sacrifice say about how much Jesus is worth to me?

  13. Examine your worship: • What is Jesus asking me to sacrifice • that I haven’t yet offered to Him? • What needs to change for my worship • to demonstrate that Jesus is my • ultimate priority?

  14. Prioritize Jesus by worshiping Him SACRIFICIALLY
