  1. First Nine Week Challenge!!

  2. 2 Books!!! • Every Cooper student and staff member needs to read a minimum of 2 books totaling at least 500 pages.

  3. Power of Choice!!! • You may read any book you choose!!

  4. Recording your pages • Once you finish a book you will record it on your reading log in your literacy folder. Remember!!! To get credit for your pages you must first share your book with others.

  5. What do I have to do to share my book? • It’s easy!!! • Ask your homeroom teacher to show you the “Options for Sharing” chart. • On this chart there are many things to choose from!

  6. Here are just a few: Post a book review to the book blog or Destiny Illustrate an important scene Create a comic strip of a scene Make a video book talk Write a poem about your book Write a summary of the plot Choose a theme song for your book and play it.

  7. Meeting the Challenge!! Student incentives!

  8. Incentives for meeting 2 book nine week challenge: • Recognized on the morning announcements! • Student who read more than 2 books will be able to enter in a raffle for a gift card drawing at the end of the nine weeks.

  9. Meeting the Challenge!! Homeroom incentive!

  10. Incentive for meeting the nine week challenge: • Each homeroom that has all students and the teacher meeting and sharing the minimum of two books will have a pizza party!

  11. Meeting the Challenge!! Cooper incentive!
