  2. The Life and Times of William Shakespeare Mr. Sullivan

  3. Early Life • Born April 1564 in Stratford, England. • Attended the local grammar school from 1570-80. • Not much else is know except for the fact that he surfaces in London around 1590.

  4. Famous Works • Major works split into his sonnets and his plays. • Plays include: • Romeo and Juliet, Henry IV, Part 1, julius Caesar, Hamlet, Macbeth, Othello, King Lear. • Sonnets are split into two major sets of work. • The Dark Lady Sonnets • The Rival Poet Sonnets

  5. Family Life/Death • Married at age 18 to a woman 8 years older than him. • Had his first child less than 6 months later • Lived most of his life in Stratford and estranged from his family. • Died in 1616.
