  2. z10BC Announcement • Reduced pricing on specialty engines • On October 21, 2008, IBM announced a 50% price reduction on Specialty engines for System z10 BC, now $47,500 • Reduced memory pricing for the first 16GB associated with each IFL • On October 21, 2008, IBM announced a 62% price reduction on System z10 Memory Prices for new workloads when purchased together with Specialty engines1, now $2250 per GB[1] • [1] Limited to 16 GB per engine

  7. zLITE - fast and easy access to low cost, short term, preconfigured remote system environments at current software release levels. • Three environments are available today: • The zLite z/OS environment provides a dedicated single z/OS 1.9 LPAR with DB2, CICS, WAS, WPS, WSB, Component Broker, WMQ, RMF & Tivoli Omegamon and WSIM. The capacity provided is 4 shared CPs, 4 or 8 GB of memory and 400 GB of storage. • The zLite zLinux environment is a dedicated Linux guest hosted on a z/VM partition. The operating systems offered are SUSE Linux Enterprise Server 10 (64 bit SP1) or Red Hat Enterprise Linux 5 (64 bit). The capacity provided is up to 4 shared CPs, 4 GB of memory and 14 GB of storage. • The zLite Oracle/zLinux environment includes Oracle AS 10g on one Linux guest + Oracle rac 10g on 2 Linux guests (cluster), 4GB and 4CP per guest. • Access to zLite is accelerated for two major reasons: • The engagement processis shortened as compared to regular benchmarks as the approval decision is made at the individual Center level. • The technical environments are enabled through an automated systems provisioning process. • To request a zLITE session please contact your local IBM System z rep who will make the request
