  1. Mechanical Engineering

  2. Linking of Mechanical Parts • A link holds two or more parts of the same technical object together. Linking connects different parts of a technical object together.

  3. Linking of Mechanical Parts Indirect Flexible Removable Complete • Example – Seat to Frame.

  4. Linking of Mechanical Parts Direct Rigid Non-Remov. Complete • Example – O-ring to cylinder.

  5. Linking of Mechanical Parts Direct Rigid Non-Remov. Complete • Example – Arm & Sleeves.

  6. Linking of Mechanical Parts Indirect Rigid Removable Complete • Example – Two Sides of Clamp.

  7. Linking of Mechanical Parts Direct Rigid Non-remov. Rivet Partial • Example – Cabinet Door Mechanism.

  8. Guiding Control • Guiding is the mechanical function performed by any component that controls the motion of one or more moving parts. • There are three main forms of guiding control: translational, rotational, and helical.

  9. Guiding Control: Translational • Translational guidance ensures the straighttranslational motion of a moving part.

  10. Guiding Control: Rotational • Rotational guidance ensures the rotational motion of a moving part.

  11. Guiding Control: Helical • Helical guidance ensures the translational motion of a moving part while it rotates about the same axis.
