The Research Associate (RA) programs offer pre-health professional students vital clinical and research experience in emergency departments (ED). With a commitment of just four hours per week, RAs can enroll patients in clinical research, collect data, and gain significant exposure to diverse patient populations. This initiative facilitates essential research while ensuring minimal disruption to clinical care. Since 1994, over 36,000 participants have been enrolled in studies, making a substantial impact on public health, including critical tobacco cessation efforts.
