Reasons for being presentable • Employees are the face of the department • They create the moment of truth about the organisation in the minds of customer • To ensure that our organisation is accepted as a professionally managed department , our employees should be presentable in their attire and behaviour

  3. Objective of this session • Understand the concept of professional image • Articulate the importance and significance of professional image & etiquette • Prepare yourself with the right dressing for the job

  6. What is Business Etiquette? • Presenting Yourself • Good Manners • Courteous to others • Respect of others • Being comfortable around others and making • them comfortable around you • No gender issue

  8. Tips on dressing for the job • Always be properly groomed • Press your clothing • Wear collared shirts • Keep your nails trimmed

  9. Tips on dressing for the job • Make sure your clothing is clean and mended • Wear clothing that fits your figure • Keep your breath fresh • Wear shoes that are polished and well maintained • Smell fresh!! Use a Deodorant or Perfume.

Tips on dressing for the job – For Men • For men: Wear socks that cover your calves • For men: Wear an undershirt under your dress shirt • Go to work properly groomed • Keep your hands manicured and clean • If wearing a blazer- button blazer or jacket when you stand • Do not use very strong cologne- use a mild one

  11. Tips on dressing for the job – For Women Don’t wear more than 13 accessories Hair and nails must be clean and groomed If you wear nail polish, make sure it is a conservative colour Your hair should be pulled away from your face Do not use very strong perfume

  12. Recommended dress code for ladies • It is better to wear any of these dresses to office • Traditional dress of your state • Saree • Salwar Suit

  13. Dressing at Workplace • Casual Attire is fine… But… • Don’t wear torn or tattered clothing. • Don’t wear offensive logos/Patterns, or logos of other companies. • No shorts, or short length clothes. • No floaters.

Etiquette • Wear a smile • Wish colleagues and customers pleasantly when meeting for the first time in the day • Present the facts in a positive way while dealing with the customers • Do not expect any favour from customer for the work done • The habit of asking / accepting gifts/ baskhis by the delivery staff should be discouraged . They should be educated about the negative image they are creating by this practice • Maintain a detached attachment to work .
