  2. DFAS is positioned to handle a discontinuous furlough within the payroll system (DCPS). The timekeeping code "KE" should be used and can process time and attendance with regular time, as well as other type codes. Additionally, DCPS can accept regular hours and furlough hours within the same day in the case of a partial day furlough.

  9. KEY POINTS TO REMEMBER: • ALL ADMINISTRATIVE FURLOUGH TIME IS CODED BY ENTERING “KE” IN THE TYPE HOUR CODE COLUMN, NOWHERE ELSE. • COMMENT IN THE JOB ORDER COLUMN IS REQUIRED FOR FURLOUGH. FOR PARTIAL DAYS, THE JOB ORDER SHOULD INDICATE THE TIME AND ‘ADMIN FURLOUGH’. (SEE SLIDE FOR 9HR PARTIAL DAY)
