  1. Year 8 Learning Challenge The Great British Space Dinner

  3. Create a Meal for Tim The challenge is to design and make a main meal that can be launched into space and eaten by Tim, and other members of the crew, on the ISS. The meal can include multiple courses and a drink.

  4. Your meal must • be in line with the recommendations of The eatwell plate and 8 tips for healthy eating; • provide 30% of Tim’s energy and nutrient needs; • be suitable for the constraints of space, e.g. suitable for preservation, easy to serve, no crumbs; • be attractive and tasty for Tim; • have a British theme, e.g. ingredients, based on a local/traditional recipe; • be something Tim can share with his crewmates in space.

  5. Entries must consist of: • names and tutor groups • a description of the meal so that Tim can decide whether he would like to eat it; • a recipe, so that a food expert can judge its nutrition content; • at least one photo of the finished result. • All entries must: - be in Word or PDF format - be no more than 5 pages long • Complete meal details entry form

The Deadline Hand in all completed entries to a form tutor by Monday 23rd June 2014 The Prize The judges will select the best entries, and winners will be invited to spend some time with Heston Blumenthal to work with him to cook their dishes and develop them into food that could become a Space Dinner.
