  2. High schools inFrance There are 3 majors types of high schools in France 1687 218 2626 Secondary education is compulsory until the age of 16 and includes attendance in a collège or middle school until age 15.

High School in France • At the end of the forth year (level 3ème) in one of the lower secondary school, the students pass an exam known as the “diplôme national du brevet” • After that, they decide to attend either a “Lycée général ettechnologique” to prepare for the baccalaureate exam or to attend a “Lycée professionnel” where they can prepare the vocational diploma in 3 years(Bac Pro) or the CAP, another vocational exam in 2 years. Both involves professional training in companies.

  4. Vocational High school The specificity of the french vocation lies in the professional training. In ecah diploma, the students has to do differents work placements to make sure that it corresponds to his career plan. BAC PRO in 3 years CAP in 2 years
