Targets: River Landscapes • Know features of the drainage basin • Know the difference between river channel characteristics & landforms • Explaining landforms: Include process, explanation (annotated diagram), FULL logical sequence. • Underline command words & key words from question stem. E.g. Explain one PHYSICAL and one HUMAN cause of flooding (link to the HYDROLOGICAL CYCLE). • Know your CASE STUDIES. Include facts & FIGURES from a range of examples for Level 3.

Targets: Wasteful World • Describing distributions: Identify pattern (e.g. Clusterings / Uneven); identify anomalies; use MAP EVIDENCE • Explain using case study examples: Make sure reasons are given (e.g. Germany) • Describing: Write FULL sentences and separate each point so the examiner can clearly see. • Do not confuse solutions to energy wastage with recycling • Make sure that you have a range of examples for solutions to energy wastage to reach Level 2+ E.g. CHP; wind turbines; British Gas; Local councils • Know the difference between DESCRIBE (What?) & EXPLAIN (Why?)
