  3. Prior Learning Students have studied the following in previous lessons and levels: • Imperative verb form to give directions • Some prepositions and prepositional phrases • Vocabulary to identify food items • Vocabulary to describe shapes

  4. Previous Stages in Lesson • Brief review of prepositions and prepositional phrases learned in previous lessons • Introduction and direct teaching of new prepositions and prepositional phrases • Guided practice activity with students • Introduction to basic plating patterns (see next slide) • Explanation of plating basics • Students practice describing patterns using prepositions and prepositional phrases
