You could write about:  • what the writer focuses your attention on at the beginning of the source • how and why the writer changes this focus as the source develops • any other structural features that interest you. This text is from the beginning of a short story. How is the text structured to interest you as a reader? You could write about:  • what the writer focuses your attention on at the beginning of the source ie what is happening at the beginning and what is the mood? • how and why the writer changes this focus as the source develops ie where does the text shift/change? This could be change of setting, move from inside to outside, move from focus on one character to another, move from past to present, zoom from the big picture to a specific detail etcetc • any other structural features that interest you. You should replace this vague instruction with: what happens at the end, and what is the mood? Is this different or the same as the beginning? What is the effect of the difference or similarity?
