  3. Prerequisites • PSYCO 104, 105, STAT 141 or 151 and BIOL 207 • Prerequisite, NOT co-requisite

  4. Textbook • Plomin, R., DeFries, J.C., McClearn, G.E., & McGuffin, P. (2008). Behavioral Genetics, Fifth Edition. New York: Worth.

  5. Course Evaluation • Midterm 1 (10 February) • 20%, chapters 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6 and lectures • Midterm 2 (17 March) • 20%, chapters 7, 8, 9, 12, 10 and lectures • Final exam (TBA) • 35%, cumulative chapters and lectures (bias towards material not covered on midterms) • Paper (22 March) • 25%

  6. Exams • Exam questions are proprietary; may not copy, transcribe, photograph, etc. • Sample questions will be provided on website; these are the only examples available • Multiple choice, short written

  7. Missed Exams • Serious illness (documented), medical emergency/death in immediate family, religious event • Midterm: weight transferred to final • Final: if deferred granted by Faculty office, write 13 May 2011, 2:00-4:00PM, BSP-241

  8. Paper • 5 pages, 6 references (4 of which peer reviewed articles); details on website • Due by end of 22 March class • 10% penalty per day late starting immediately after class on 22 March • Submit directly to instructor or to Psychology office (BSP-217, hours M-F 8:00-12:00, 1:00-4:00) • Please DO NOT put any assignment under instructor’s door!

  12. Cheating, Plagiarism • Detailed listing on syllabus • Code of Student Behaviour • Shall not represent another’s work on an assignment as his/her own • Shall not submit material completed/in progress for another course without written approval • Cheating on exams

  13. Class Disruption, Cell Phones • Any disruptive students will be required to leave • All cell phones MUST be turned off during class time • No texting, surfing, video watching, etc.
