  1. Assessing the potential for volcanogenic massive sulfide mineralization at Weld Range, using Golden Grove for comparison Joshua Guilliamse

  2. Overview • Study areas • Golden Grove • Glenview • Part 1 - Environment • Lithology • Age • Felsic fertility • Tectonic setting • Water depth • Part 2 - • Alteration • White mica • Chlorite N Modified from Van Kranendonk et al (2010)

  3. Golden Grove Initial Resources (MMG Golden Grove Pty Ltd, 2012) Gossan Hill 9.2 Mt at 2.7% Zn, 2.6% Cu, 0.4 g/t Au and 24 g/t Ag. Scuddles 10.5 Mt at 11.7% Zn, 1.2% Cu, 0.8% Pb, 1.1 g/t Au and 89 g/t Ag. Scuddles Gossan Hill Modified from Clifford 1992

  4. Weld Range Intersections included: 2m at 1.47% Pb and 5.73% Zn, 2m at 1.5% Cu (Martin et al., 1997) Modified from Hagemann and Duuring (2013)

  5. Lithology

  6. Age Southern side of Weld Range: 2747±4 Ma (GSWA 155572, Wingate et al., 2013b) Golden Grove: 2960 Ma (Wingate et al., in prep.) Glenview: 2977±3Ma (GSWA 155569, Wingate et al., 2013a)

  7. Felsic fertility Mineralization Potential High FIIIb FIIIa FII FI Low

  8. Tectonic setting From Van Kranendonk and Ivanic (2010)

  9. Water depth From Van Kranendonk and Ivanic (2010)

  10. Alteration - Spectroscopy Six drill holes from Golden Grove spanning mineralization at Scuddles and Gossan Hill, as well as distal unmineralized holes Four drill holes from Glenview, each intersecting VMS style stringer mineralization HyLogger™ (Auscope)

  19. Conclusions • Similar environments in terms of lithology • Comparable ages • Defining the tectonic setting for Glenview requires more work • Possible issue with water depth at Glenview • Spectroscopic techniques viable at Golden Grove • More intense alteration has occurred in the East at Glenview
