Visa Support Letters • ACM should handle all requests • For helpful visa information for attendees to be posted on the conference website or for a visa support letter, email supportletters@acm.org. • The sites http://www.unitedstatesvisas.gov & http://travel.state.gov have information about obtaining a visa for those traveling to the United States. Both sites have links to websites for U.S. embassies and consulates worldwide. The embassy and consulate websites have very helpful information about procedures, timelines, communities served, required documentation, and fees. • International registrants should be particularly aware and careful about visa requirements, and should plan travel well in advance. All visa inquiries must be handled by ACM HQ. Please send your request for a letter in support of a visa application to supportletters@acm.org include your name, mailing address, fax number, and the name of the conference you are attending. (Authors of papers/posters should include the title). Please note that ACM does not issue formal “letters of invitation” to any of its conferences.
In-cooperation Conferences There are 2 options for ACM involvement. • 1) Cooperation - ACM supports the technical direction of the event but has no financial or legal responsibility for it. ACM may be listed as a cooperating organization in all publicity but ACM may not be included in the title of the event. The proceedings will be published by ACM and appear in the ACM DL if all criteria for publishing are met. • 2) Sponsorship - One or more of the ACM SIGs take full responsibility for the event. ACM may be included in the title. ACM will publish the proceedings and they will appear in the ACM DL. • You may request ACM involvement for cooperation or sponsorship through the links above. The list of SIGS is located here: http://www.acm.org/sigs so that you can determine which are the most appropriate to work with in either case.
Calendar of Events • http://campus.acm.org/public/calendar/manage_events/index.cfm?event=NEW • Non-ACM events can be listed in the calendar so long as they benefit the ACM community and are sponsored by a non-profit organization.
