  6. Believing that post-secondary education is affordable FAFSA Completion Project Pilot

  7. A randomized controlled trial evaluation of a pilot program initiated by H & R Block found that helping families to complete and submit the FAFSA increased postsecondary enrollment by dependent students by 29 percent. (Bettinger, Long, Oreopoulos, et al., 2009).

  8. SASD selected as one of 60 districts across the nation to participate in a two year pilot. • The benefit to the other schools in the county is that part of the pilot is increasing public awareness • Eventually, if the pilot is successful, all schools will have access to individual student information regarding FAFSA completion
