Religion • People used to pray inside the home and drinking was to be done outside the home. • Iran was also called the “Land of Kings” and is now called “Land of Mullahs” • Religion was not as strict as it is today • Islam was the dominate religion The demonstration of freedom of speech and freedom of religion
Impact • The impact of having such a westernized lifestyle before the revolution made the results of the revolution much harder for most individuals. • The value of their money decreased • Negatively effected women’s social, political, and economic status. • Social progress has been reversed especiallywith regards to women. • Destroyed ties to the United States and many other countries • Iran was seen as a threat because of the holding of nuclear weapons.
