Mission Statement for The Language and Communications Programme Vision The LCP is the unit of reference for language learning policy, standards and operational advice in the UN Global Secretariat. The LCP provides and disseminates services, knowledge and good practices to increase multilingualism in the UN community.
Mission The LCP’s mission is to provide language learning services to the UN Global Secretariat in the following areas: • Elaborate policies and guidelines for language learning in the UN Secretariat. • Establish standards of language learning levels, programme design, evaluation and teacher training and development. • Create language learning programmes to meet the changing needs of UN staff worldwide. • Provide language learning programmes to the UNHQ community. • Coordinate with the UN Language learning units in OAHs to build a robust and standardized UN-wide programme.
