  10. Achievement • Action! • Get it accomplished • I should be doing something! • Work • Identification: who are you? • Materialism • The pursuit of happiness • Status

Directness • Assertiveness • Plainly and directly expresses feelings and requests • “Let’s lay our cards on the table” • However, Show Discretion about • Anything excessively personal • Unpleasant body/mouth odors • Sexual functioning • Personal inadequacies • Want to say no without offending • Offending someone we don’t know or know really well
