  17. Financial Aid • FAFSA • Estimated Family Contribution (EFC): • The amount of money the family has available to contribute to the students education for the following academic year • fafsa.ed.gov

Financial Aid • Types of Financial Aid: • Grants – gifts of money that do not have to be repaid • Come from federal, state or institutional level • Loans – money available to BORROW that must be repaid • Variety of lenders and borrow terms • Work-Study – guaranteed employment on campus where a student can “work off” part of their tuition/earn extra money
