Questions to consider: • After watching some of the video from the hit TV show “Gold Rush Alaska” answer the following questions. • List some of the negative environmental impacts caused by the mining. • List some of the positive environmental impacts caused by the mining. • Approximate how much “air time” was given to the environmental restoration of the mining sites. • Approximate how much “air time” was given to the environmental destruction of the mining sites.

  5. Create a photo timeline to show how gold is extracted. • Include extraction, filtering, processing, end product, financial reward and environmental restoration of a gold mine. • Use more than one slide for this. • What is the world’s largest gold company? • How much gold is produced each year? • How much money is made from gold production?
