  1. All About Combinations By: Brianna, Kayla, Zack, Gabriel and E.J

  2. Story Problem Zack, Brianna, Kayla, Gabriel and E.J go to the dealership. Zack wants a car that is either a Limo, Porch or a punch buggy. He wants rims that are either blue, green or red. He wants wheels that are either chrome, gold and silver.

  3. Organize Information First, to make your tree chart you have to organize your information. To organize you have to take the information from the story problem. For Example: Zack wants either a Limo, Porch or a punch Buggy you can put that in categories! Cars Limo Porch Punch Buggy That’s how you start to organize it. Now lets learn how to make a tree chart kids!

  4. How to Create a Tree Chart Next, you have to make a tree chart. You are probably wondering what a tree chart is. A tree chart is what the 4th graders use to help us make our combinations. Combinations are when you have different categories and things that match the categories. Here are the categories. CarsWheelsRims Can you think about types to go with these categories? There are 2 different ways to figure it out. I will tell you they are Tree charts and multiplication!

  5. How to Find The Total Combinations After, you make your tree chart you connect the dots, don’t get to exited it is not a game. For example: If you were doing a tree chart about Sandwiches you could do this (we will show you on paper.)

  6. Lets Do it Kids... Ok so lets do it on a piece of paper together and we printed some pictures of the things we needed. So lets start!
